passed away peacefully January 1, 2023, surrounded by family. Known to all as Ellie, she was born on October 28, 1926, in Baltimore, MD to the late Julian and Stephanie Marchel, she was the beloved wife for 65 years to Rudy Violante.
A loving mother, and grandmother, she cherished being with her children, and grandchildren. Her time together with family always gave Ellie immense happiness and a lot of fond memories.
Ellie was a 1945 graduate of Stetson High School in Baltimore. 12 years later, she married Rudy Violante, and they ultimately moved to Paoli in 1961.
Following a long and successful career in sales administration, Ellie retired from the Pillsbury Company and decided to fulfill her passion for reading by being a regular at the Paoli Library.
As a member of the Church of Saviour in Wayne, she was active in the church choir and had great joy in assisting with the Kids Ministry Program for preschoolers.
She very much enjoyed the art of ballroom dancing. Through frequent lessons, she, along with her husband Rudy, became an avid ballroom dancer; and loved to attend ballroom dance competitions.
Ellie is survived by her husband Rudy, her two sons, John and David, and grandchildren, Michael, and Amanda. Ellie was predeceased by her four siblings Joseph Marchel, Edward Marchel and Chester Marchel, and Wanda Groncki.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, Jan 7 at Alleva Funeral home in Paoli 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A private interment will immediately follow.
