Edward Francis McAleer Jr.

Edward F McAleer Jr, age 93 of Berwyn, PA passed away peacefully at home March 7, 2023 surrounded by his family and beloved dog Ginger. He was born in Springfield, MA, graduated from Middlebury College in VT, served in the Army in Germany, and worked his career as a manufacturer sales representative.

He lived in Berwyn since 1967 and was a long-time active member of the United Church of Christ at Valley Forge where he served on numerous boards supporting the continuity of the church over 50 years. In retirement, he enjoyed volunteering for the American Red Cross and Meals on Wheels for many years. He enjoyed golf, travel with family and friends and taking care of his yard.

Edward is predeceased by his wife Sandy (nee Miller) of 48 years. He is survived by his children Deb, Ted and Stu and four grandchildren, Samantha, Stuart, Elizabeth and Carly who all cherished his lifetime of love. A visitation will be held May 7, 2023 from 12:30 to 1:00pm and memorial service at 1:00pm will be held May 7, 2023 at United Church of Christ at Valley Forge 45 Walker Road, Wayne, Pa 19087 . There will be a luncheon immediately following the service at Glenhardie Country Club, 1399 Old Eagle School Road, Wayne, Pa 19087.

In lieu of flowers, a gift may be made to Meals on Wheels at 60 Survey Way Devon PA 19333 or the United Church of Christ at Valley Forge at 45 Walker Road Wayne PA.
