passed away on February 15, 2023, at the age of 76. She was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in Sunnyside, Queens, but spent much of her life in Pennsylvania, where she raised her family and touched the lives of many with her kindness, generosity, and love.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, William Janofsky, and her six children, Maura, Sheila, Thomas, Kathryn, Daniel, and Stephen, and her eight grandchildren, Matthew, Brendan, Thomas, Michael, Sarah, JD, Grace, and Luke. She was a dedicated wife and mother who always put her family first and took great pride in watching her children and grandchildren grow.
Dorothy was a devoted Catholic who lived her life in service to others. She worked as a children's librarian at Paoli library and St. Philip and James and St. Norberts school libraries, where she shared her love of reading with countless children. She believed that reading was essential for personal growth, and she went out of her way to make sure that children had access to books and resources that would help them succeed in life.
Dorothy had a passion for Sea Isle City, where she spent many summers with her family. She loved spending time on the beach, watching the sunset, and relaxing with a good book.
Flowers are appreciated or donations may be made to St. Norbert's School Library, where Dorothy left a lasting impact on countless children. Dorothy will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those who knew her.
A visitation for Dorothy will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St Norbert Catholic Church, 50 Leopard Rd, Paoli, Pennsylvania 19301. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 12:00 PM, 50 Leopard Rd, Paoli, Pennsylvania 19301. Burial will occur Monday, March 6, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.
