A few years ago when Dad was working at Edwards AF Base. He took me for a tour of the Base and I got to see the shuttle up close.

Hey Dad, you're home safe and sound and won your race.  You were always there for me, my hero, my dad.  I'll see you each time I see my kids and my grandsons, and I'll think of you each fall when I hunt the Gore, and the geese come to Colorado.

I'll stay in the fight like you taught me, and do my best to be a good dad and Papa like you.  I'll give Melissa and the kids a hug for you like you always said when we talked.  Your legacy and the Rhodes name lives on in all of us here in Colorado, thanks Dad.
