Sally F. Merker

Sally was born in the Bronx, NY on July 15,1935 to Nicholas and Amelia Zimmard. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Merker. She is survived by her children Michael and Robin Merker of Stuart, FL, Nancy and Bryan Grover of Bristol, CT, and Nicki and Bernard McGrane of Hillsdale, NJ. She is also survived by her grandchildren Amy and David Truckenbrodt, Brandon Grover and Tia Lorancaitis, Sarah Merker, Rachel Merker, Marissa McGrane, and BJ McGrane.

Sally graduated from Hunter College with a degree in Psychology. She worked in many fields over the years, but most enjoyed her time working with children. She worked as a Nursery School Teacher and, after retiring, volunteered in a third grade classroom for many years. She loved helping children and enjoyed sharing stories about all of them.

Sally had many hobbies including traveling, going to the theater, reading, cooking, and watching the New York Yankees. She loved dancing, and could always be found on the dance floor. Sally enjoyed spending time with her family, and will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

A graveside service for Sally will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Beth Moses Cemetery, 1500 Wellwood Ave, West Babylon, NY 11704.
