What can we say about a woman who was ahead of her time.  She paved the way for all of us to achieve greatness.  I had the privilege of being a student and learning from the best.   She spearheaded the Masters of Fundraising program at NYU.   She will be sorely missed.  My condolences to the family.

Naomi was the most unforgettable person in my long lifetime of experience. She was my role model. Her dazzling brilliance, scope of knowledge  & disarming sense of humor were nonpareil. She shattered the almost impenetrable glass ceiling of her generation & forged a career in which she attained an international reputation.
She leaves a void in all of her many admiring friends & family that cannot be filled. My heartfelt sympathy to Joan & all the family.

I had the good fortune to attend NYU's Summer Intensive Fundraising  program in 2003.  The program was headed up by Naomi Levine.  She conducted several group presentations and I also had a chance to speak with her on a number of occasions.  She was extraordinarily intelligent, well-read, confident and articulate. She was also a person of sincere kindness and concern for her students. I confessed to her my own career confusion and she spent more than an hour providing advice and setting out several options for me. Her assistance that day played a major role in my choice of a career direction. The trajectory of my entire life was upgraded by her advice. I will be forever grateful.
