Marvin Rosenberg was born in New York, on April 12, 1934. He attended PS 80 primary school and DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx. He earned his undergraduate degree from CUNY in 1954. He graduated from dental school with a DDS from New York University in 1958. He received his post-graduate education and training in periodontology at Boston University and the University of Pennsylvania.
In 1960, Marvin and his new bride, Baylie Rubin Rosenberg, moved to West Palm Beach, Florida, where he opened his dental practice. Ultimately, the practice grew under his leadership to be one of the largest and most successful in Palm Beach County. It was well known that his patients (including the famous ones) often became his close friends.
With Baylie, Dr. Rosenberg was active in Palm Beach philanthropic activities for decades with a special emphasis in raising funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, both locally and nationally, and for Jewish causes. He also served for over a decade on the Palm Beach Architectural Commission.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Baylie, his three children and their spouses Robin Rosenberg (Michael McAuliffe), Gary Rosenberg (Julie Ma Rosenberg), James Rosenberg (Lisa Gaffin Rosenberg), and nine grandchildren, Sydney McAuliffe, Naomie Rosenberg, Madison McAuliffe, Hanna Rosenberg, Adin McAuliffe, Sofia Rosenberg, Ivy Rosenberg, Reid Rosenberg, and Nica Rosenberg.
He was predeceased by his brother Murray and his loving parents Bernice and Abraham Rosenberg.
Marvin took immense pleasure in his large family, especially his grandchildren with whom he cultivated special relationships.
He exuded confidence in himself, his family, and his community. He was a supremely committed professional. Over many decades, he honed his skills as a periodontist (pioneering new surgical techniques), real estate developer, noted textbook author, lecturer, and adjunct professor.
By any measure, Marvin Rosenberg fulfilled his dreams of a prodigious professional career and personal happiness. His life is a wonderful example for others to emulate. Flashes of his famous smile will be missed by his family, and a legion of friends and admirers.
