BATTERMAN, Lee C. (née Dorfman), of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on November 6, 2018. A native New Yorker, Lee was born in Brooklyn to Hyman and Ray Dorfman and lived in Jericho, Long Island with her husband and children before moving to Palm Beach Gardens in 1979. Lee was predeceased by her husband, David, and granddaughter, Ariel. She is survived by her three loving daughters: Saura (Ken Smith), Ronni (Douglas Robb), and Jyl; 5 grandchildren: Ryan (Sharon) Rothman, Jordan (Annie) Rothman, Rebecca Batterman, Dashiell Robb, and Rachel Freeman; and 3 great-grandchildren: Marshyl Rothman, Chelsea McClymont, and Chloe Rothman. She’s also survived by her brother, Arnold (Judy Itzkowitz) Dorfman and sister, Evelyn (Marvin) Percher as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
An impressive and accomplished painter, Lee’s artwork focused on bringing the color and beauty of life to the canvas. Her zest for life lived on and off the canvas as well through her world travel, interest to learn, and love for her family. Lee’s favorite poem “God’s World” by Edna St. Vincent Millay, and it’s first line: “O World, I cannot hold thee close enough!” is how she lived her life, full of adventure and a unique passion towards everything she did. Lee’s vibrance impacted everyone she met and she will be remembered and appreciated for it.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations be made to Trustbridge and JDRF . Funeral services will be taking place on Friday, November, 9 2018 at 11am at the IJ Morris Star of David Memorial Cemetery of the Palm Beaches (9321 Memorial Park Road, West Palm Beach, Florida 33412).
