Harvey Jay Siegel, age 78, passed away due to surgical complications, on April 25, 2023. Born in The Bronx, to Laura and Phillip Siegel, Harvey grew up in Yonkers, NY. He attended Hunter College and graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson after serving two years in the Army. In 1970, Harvey married the love of his life, Jeri, with whom he shared the last 52 years. They built their life together in New York and then Connecticut, and eventually moved to Florida in 1997 to enjoy the weather and the lifestyle. Harvey is survived by Jeri, as well as his children, Steven (Sasha), Joshua (Vicky), and Amy. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Amber (Jason), Elijah, Sean, Ryan, and Dylan, one great-grandson, Wyatt, and his sister, Barbara Friedman (David Blanken). He lived and passed surrounded by his family and their deep and abiding love. After starting his career in the financial industry at the Bank of New York more than fifty years ago, he happily retired from Morgan Stanley after many years as a financial planner, loving what he did, but eager for days on the golf course with his Ibis buddies and deep sea fishing with Steve. He loved jigsaw puzzles and Wordle, sharing those passions with Josh and his grandsons. Harvey supported his community by volunteering, serving on the boards of numerous Jewish organizations, and offering financial support to causes in which he believed, a love and passion he taught to and shared with Amy. Harvey and Jeri spent the last 26 years living in Ibis, enjoying their lives with wonderful friends, by all of whom he will be sorely missed. Services will be held at I.J. Morris at Star of David Cemetery of the Palm Beaches, 9321 Memorial Park Rd., Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Harvey’s memory to Temple Judea, 4311 Hood Road, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410, www.templejudeapbc.org. The family will sit shiva at home immediately following burial, and the following two days.
