

A. Roberto Gonzalez, 79, of Jupiter, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family after a long illness. Originally from Havana, Cuba, Roberto graduated from the Cuban Naval Academy with degrees in electrical and mechanical engineering. His long career started at AMP, Inc. in Harrisburg, PA, the largest maker of electrical connectors. He worked there in management and opened up the South American market for the large company. More recently, AMP was bought by TYCO and Mr. Gonzalez was retired early. He then had time to enjoy his hobby of building and flying intricate and beautiful remote controlled planes. The planes were entered into competition where he not only won awards but was written up in several foreign magazines. Boating and fishing on the South Florida waterways was another hobby. He leaves behind his loving wife, Ruth Abrams Gonzalez; son, Andrew (Jamie) Gonzalez and their daughters Chloe and Sophia; daughter, Ana Weinberger and her sons Alexander and Mathew. Funeral Services will be on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 12:00 noon at IJ Morris at Star of David Cemetery of the Palm Beaches. 9321 Memorial Park Road, West Palm Beach 33412.
