Somwattee Singh

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Somwattee “Somi” Singh, who left us peacefully on October 10, 2024, in Orlando, Florida, after complications from a brief illness. Born on December 31, 1948, in Guyana to Arjune and Narinee Anjan, Somi spent her later years in Palm Bay, Florida.

Somi married her beloved husband, Goutam “Stanley” Singh, in 1983. Together, they built a loving home filled with laughter and warmth. Somi was a devoted mother to her two children, Roy Singh and Sandira “Sandy” Mora. She was a proud grandmother to two cherished grandchildren, Rami Sumer Singh and Isis Rose Espinosa, who brought immense joy to her life. Somi is also survived by her loving siblings, Manilla Asregadoo, Sarojanie Maraj, Devika Maihudin, Rishika Khan, and Herman “Broths” Anjan, who have been her lifelong companions and confidants. Somi loved her family endlessly. She was always a source of joy and unconditional love for her siblings, husband, children, son- and daughter-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Somi was a dedicated Registered Nurse, having received her education at the Coventry School of Nursing in the United Kingdom. Her compassion and commitment to caring for others touched the lives of countless patients and families throughout her career. She was a source of strength and support to everyone who knew her.

A passionate traveler, Somi enjoyed exploring the world with her family, with a particular fondness for cruises that allowed her to embrace new cultures and experiences. She also found great joy in gardening, nurturing her plants with the same love and care she showed her family. In her quieter moments, Somi delighted in reading, often getting lost in the pages of her favorite Agatha Christie novels.

Somi lived a life full of love, adventure, and dedication to her family and community. Somi’s vibrant spirit, kindness, and laughter will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She touched the lives of many and will be remembered for her generous and caring spirit. Her legacy continues through her children and grandchildren.

A visitation for Somi will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Fountainhead Memorial Funeral Home, 7359 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, FL 32909. A funeral service will occur Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 10:00 AM at Fountainhead Memorial Funeral Home.
