He was born in Forsythe, Georgia. Ellis was the son of Iverson Payne Smith and Sarah
Elizabeth (Stevens) Smith. He received his GED thru the US ARMY. He was employed at Piper Aircraft for 30 years as an Aircraft Engineer.
He was a lifelong member of the River of Life Church of God in Fellsmere, FIorida. He loved attending church, fishing, and taking walks both thru the neighborhood and in nature. Ellis will be remembered for his kindness, his faith, and his perpetual willingness to help those in need. Oh, and don't forget his hat and
smile!
He is survived by his children: Iven Smith, Dollie Nita (Juanita) Mepham, her husband Alfred Mepham, granddaughter Stephanie KWiecinski (kwazinski), her husband Michael, and great-grandson Marcus. He was predeceased by his wife Dollie.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the River of Life Church of God, 81 N. Pine Street, Fellsmere, Florida 32948 with the interment at Fountainhead Memorial Park in Palm Bay, Florida. The viewing will be held from 10 am until the time of the service. The service will be from 11 am -12 pm and the interment to follow at the cemetery.
Anyone who wishes to gather with the family can meet at his home after the interment service at 56 N. Oleander Street, Fellsmere, Florida.
