Rev. Dan E. Gibson, age 79, residing in Palm Bay, Florida, passed on to Glory Friday, December 6, 2024. He was born March 13, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Billy M. Gibson and Mary L. Bell (Cook). He grew up in the Lake of the Ozarks with his sister Diane. His family had a resort in Gravois Mills called “Happy Days”. He had a lot of fond memories there; it is also where he developed the start of his work ethic! He commented often about having a bell next to his bed that went off early in the morning when the fishermen wanted bait or gas!
He enlisted in the U.S. Marines in 1962-66; most of this time was spent in Vietnam. He was stationed in 29 Palms, California. Dan was not a Christian at this time but later saw how God in His sovereignty spared his life so that he may be a servant of our Lord. Dan and his brothers that served together were able to have many reunions all over the country, and even two in Seville, Spain, hosted by the Chipers family in the early 2000s. Anyone that’s been around Dan has heard many stories of his time in service.
He went to the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, where he took business classes. He was an avid reader and studied many subjects. His love for history and the law shaped many years of his life. He was a paralegal in Independence, Missouri in the late 80s. He also produced a 102-hour law course video series.
He worked for a few years in sales and service in computer technologies, traveling a lot in the 70s. Once in a hotel in Dallas, Texas, he picked up a Bible and read the New Testament. The Holy Spirit filled him with a brokenness to repent and change his life. He moved to Southern California for business in 1981 and this was where he met his wife, Debbie. They were married on December 2, 1984. They moved to Kansas City, where he went to Nazarene Theological Seminary. After reading a lot of biographies from great Reformed theologians he was later ordained in the Covenant Reformed Presbyterian Church. He pastored a church in Rayville, Missouri before being called to a church in Milton, Wisconsin. During this time, he became very active in the ministry of the pre-born, serving with local organizations and Missionary to the Preborn out of Wisconsin. He was introduced to a business called Alpine Industries in 1997. To provide for their family they did this part-time. Once again, God had plans. Dan excelled and became a leader and mentor to many, both in business and spiritually!
His hobbies included genealogy, journaling, traveling, scuba diving, fishing, boating, and gardening. He loved teaching his children and grandchildren how to fish and about the Lord.
He is survived by his wife Deborah Ann Gibson, his (step) daughter April; sons Spencer and Ephraim (EJ); daughters Sarah, Heather, Faith, Rachel, Rebekah, Abigail, and his many beloved grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Diane, stepsister Terry Lynn, and cousins John and Susan.
A visitation for Dan will be held Monday, December 16, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Fountainhead Funeral Home, 7359 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, FL 32909 with a Memorial Service to begin at 11:00AM.
