Arthur J. Blackwell, 85, of Melbourne, FL passed away Friday August 23, 2013 at William Childs Hospice House. A native of the Bronx, NY, Arthur moved to Florida 12 years ago with his wife of 52 years, Rose from Monroe, NY. Arthur was in the Army and served in the Korean War before starting his life’s work as a cabinet finisher as a member in the Carpenter’s Union. He was a member of the VFW and was a longtime member of St. Anastasia’s Church in New York.
Arthur is preceded in death by his wife, Rose.
He is survived by three sons: Charles Blackwell of New York, Arthur Blackwell of San Diego, CA, and Glen(Becky) Blackwell of Atlanta, GA; one daughter, Diane(Guy) Buran of Temecula, CA; six grandchildren: Jerel DiViesti, David Diviesti, Marrissa Blackwell, Dominick Blackwell, Rose Marie Blackwell, and Parker Blackwell.
There will be a private service held Sunday August 25, 2013 at Fountainhead Memorial Park.
