Dearest Kelly, twas truly a unique pleasure sharing our mutual love for dancing and parties and especially hang-gliding with you.   That first meeting in ~1986 at the "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" fly-in was just magic, the gal with the biggest hair & the guy with the biggest hair just clicking as buddies-at-first-sight.  Our flights from above Pacific Valley to the bluffs below, both those when we flew out own wings and those when you were by my side as we flew tandem will always have a special place in my memory.  Only regret, that I didn't tell you how much I loved you nearly enough times.

Kelly was ready for anything. A top notch financial officer who could carry on a conversation while she added the payroll, I recall my amazement when she took up hang-gliding. It was love at first panoramic sight. The community kids all loved her, probably because her home was a virtual cat zoo.  Her passing leaves a hole: there will never be another Kelly.

We have lost the sweetest friend! Such a wonderful woman, Kelly McKay. I knew Kelly for a long time. We were friends in the Esalen staff units and throughout that whole interface with Esalen growing her community and offering many new transforming approaches to the greater world. It was an exciting and fascinating time and Kelly had her finger on the pulse. Kelly was smart, she did the numbers and helped run Esalen. She did a wonderful massage, afterward you would feel so light it was like you’d been touched by an angel. One with a great smile and a good story. She would offer her work to her friends and more than once rescued me with a very healing session just when I need it more than anything. Kelly got her wings last week, Margaret was with her and I am so glad, they were such wonderful close friends. Her many friends held her close as she flew away. Kelly loved animals, cats and dogs especially  and always cared for as many as she could house and feed, often funny senior ones that she would baby and love with special care. As Kelly wings away our love surrounds her and warms her and will always. A special friend to many and the warmest sweetest funniest lady. Kelly we love you and hold you dear. And think of all the furry friends who bless your passage. I can see your smile right now. You take our love with you.




Kelly McKay: a courageous friend to all beings, patient and kind, very kind. I weep writing these words. I know Kelly is safe under G’s wings. Kelly, with a smile found comfort when she finally let me tell her my angel story.  Pray her family heals somehow quickly and well as she would want them.  Kelly’s gracious caring custom carries on and on. My world and the world is filled with more hope and honor because Kelly was here.  In Kelly’s honor, every donation I give, even to meet in the street homeless, I will match to ‘Peace of Mind’, the place that finds homes for the furry ones left when their loving elders pass on; and wherein Kelly gave so very much of herself. 'Peace of Mind’, body, heart and soul is surely Kelly’s, too.

I have fond memories of Kelly from our days at Esalen.  I felt her warmth and compassionate caring.  She will be missed.
