Joanne Peterson

Joanne lived a simple, beautiful and charmed life, which matched exactly with her soul and purity of heart. A wonderful, loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Joanne was a beacon of hope for us all. Her steadfast belief in people, along with her kind way of appreciating and befriending everyone she met, no matter what walk of life, was a true hallmark of Joanne's character. She had a unique and refreshing spirit that never wavered in even the toughest of times.

Joanne moved with her father and mother (Roy and Mildred Christensen, and brother Garth) in the1930's to Pacific Grove, California from Beaver, Utah. Having been a resident of Pacific Grove for over 80 years, she truly loved PG and all its charm. She married Merrill Peterson in 1961 at Carmel Highlands.

Joanne is survived by her three children, Lisa Bohn of Liberty, Missouri (husband Ben), Lee Peterson of Lakewood Ranch, Florida (wife Nicola), and Serena Lugo of Milford, Connecticut (husband Bill), along with her 6 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by her nephews, Mike and Bob Christensen and niece Stacey Elwell and their families as well as Nick and Mary Jo Lemon, and Tom and Carolyn Peterson and their families.

Joanne was truly blessed to have been surrounded by a deeply loving family and great friends, both which she considered her greatest treasures. She felt very blessed to have had an extended family of close friends so engaged with her. She often said she had the best neighbors and friends in the world, and it is hard to disagree. The Peterson family thanks each and every one of you for being so kind to her. We love you all.

We lost one of the purest and most caring hearts put on this earth with the passing of Joanne. We will all miss you dearly. Rest in peace Mom.
