September 17, 1935 - November 30, 2023
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Gloria Gianola, a beloved wife, mother, and pillar of strength, who gracefully departed this world at the age of 88. Gloria was a native of Vallejo, California, where she not only witnessed the transformation of the city over the years but also played an instrumental role in shaping the lives of those around her.
Born on September 17, 1935, Gloria embraced life with a spirit that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She radiated warmth and kindness, creating a home filled with love and laughter. Her legacy is one of unwavering devotion to family, a commitment that manifested itself in a marriage that spanned an impressive 62 years. Gloria and her devoted husband Charles Gianola were a true testament to the enduring power of love, weathering life's storms and celebrating its joys side by side.
As a mother of four, Gloria was the heart of her family. She imparted invaluable lessons of resilience, compassion, and the importance of cherishing every moment. Her four children are a living tribute to her wisdom and love, carrying forward the torch of her remarkable legacy. Gloria found joy in the simple pleasures of life, from family gatherings to quiet moments spent in reflection, always cherishing the bonds that connected her to those she held dear.
Previously a dental hygienist and a former member of the Soroptimist Club, Gloria, in addition to her role as a loving wife and mother, had a passion for antiques, art, cooking and gardening. These interests brought her immense joy throughout her life and her enthusiasm for these pursuits inspired those around her to embrace their own passions and find fulfillment in the simple pleasures that make life truly special.
As we mourn the loss of Gloria, let us also celebrate the incredible life she led. Her legacy of love, resilience, and a deep sense of community will continue to inspire and uplift us.
She is preceded in death by her father, Antonio Natale Barone, her mother, Teresa Garibaldi Barone and her brother, Loren Barone. She leaves behind her loving husband Charles, her four children Michael Gianola, Elizabeth Gianola (James Cook), Jacqueline Gianola-Quinn (Joseph Quinn) and Jennifer Gianola and two grandchildren William Quinn and Alexander Gianola Cook.
May Gloria's spirit live on in the hearts of those she touched, and may we find solace in the beautiful memories we shared together. In memoria con amore, riposa in pace eterna. (In loving memory, rest in eternal peace).
The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to their favorite charity in Gloria Gianola’s name.
