Elizabeth “Ibby” Brennan passed away peacefully at home at the age of 99 with her son, Paul, by her side. She was born to Lt. Edmund B. Sebree and Pauline Weber Sebree in the Territory of Alaska at Ft. William H. Seward, Haines, Alaska.
Elizabeth was a military daughter, wife and loving mother. Throughout her life, she lived in many different countries including the Philippines and Japan. She also lived at many different military bases in the United States where she was stationed with her husband until their retirement to Carmel in 1967.
Elizabeth was an avid outdoorswoman and equestrian with a love of horses. Her favorite was “Rosie” at Hidden Hills Stables in the 70’s and 890’s. Ibby was a generous philanthropist with many charities.
Elizabeth married Col. Mark F. Brennan on February 6, 1940 at Ft. Sam Houston, San Antonio, TX. They were married for 61 years before his death in 2001. She is survived by her sons; Mark F. Brennan, Jr. (Judy) of Fairfax Station, VA and Paul S. Brennan of Carmel, CA, four grandsons and three great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Marty McAlister (2017) and Toddy Olow (2018).
At her request, there will not be any services. Any donations in memory of Ibby may be sent to the charity of your choice.
