He was born on December 11, 1928 in Madison, WI the son of Bernard and Catherine (Schuelken) Roemer. He graduated from Central High School and attended the University. He served in the US Army.
Richard worked in sales for several years and owned a Locksmith Distributing business. He was also employed by Madison Metro Bus Company as a driver.
He moved to Florida in 1979 to get away from the cold and to enjoy the great sunshine. He was employed at Lynx driving city bus. After retirement he still enjoyed driving tour buses and taking people on exhibitions. He enjoyed travel, camping, occasional trips to the casino, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. He was very creative and loved inventing things. He was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Daytona Beach, FL
He is survived by his Significant Other Donna Sperr and her sons; his daughter Nancy (Kevin) Judd of Windsor, WI; daughters-in-law Susan Roemer of Madison, WI and Nancy Roemer-Smith (Ed) of Lake Helen, FL; a sister-in-law Josephine Triggs, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; sons Richard, Ronald, and Mark, and daughter Kathleen; brothers Donald and Bernard and sister-in-law Sophie.
A private graveside service will be held at a later time with internment at Lake Helen - Cassadaga Cemetary in Lake Helen, FL
Richard was a very caring, generous and giving person.
