He was born in Princeton, Illinois, on September 30, 1957, to Gene and Suzanne Maxfield.
Mike attended Paris High School in Paris Illinois and Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois.
He was married to Jennifer (Jenny) Meyer Maxfield on August 3, 1991 and previously married to Debra (Deb) Cheely Maxfield.
Mike worked in the Automotive Industry, specifically in the F & I (Finance and Insurance) field his entire career. His experience included: F & I Specialist and District Manager for Pat Ryan and Associates, Director of Finance for Tom Wood and Beck Toyota, Senior Account Executive for Resource Group, Vice President/Regional Director for Providence Group, Director at Dealer Development Corporation, Finance Director for JM & A, Zone Business Consultant for Costco Auto Buying Program; Retired in 2017.
Mike had a passion for cooking/grilling. He, also, enjoyed playing golf, deep-sea fishing, diving, going to the beach, attending sporting events, as well as, playing sports. Mike was an outstanding athlete. He played football, ran track, and was a swimmer.
Mike loved spending time with his family. He attended as many of his children’s activities as possible. He was a parent volunteer as well as a coach/assistant coach when they were younger.
In addition to his wife Jenny, Mike is survived by his children, Abby Hoone (Marcus), Scott Maxfield (fiancé Lindsey), and Collin Maxfield; his grandchildren, Ella, Cole, and Drew; his brother, Bruce Maxfield (Laurie); his sister, Sandy Maxfield; and his mother, Suzanne Maxfield.
He was preceded in death by Debra (Deb) Cheely Maxfield and Gene Maxfield.
A Celebration of Life will be held in December in Indianapolis, IN.
