Elizabeth was born in the tiny town of Sugar City, Colorado on April 16, 1934 to Nina Julia Webster Brock and Benjamin John Brock. She graduated from Rocky Ford High School then attended the Barbizon School in New York City to pursue her dream of becoming a model. She returned home a few years later when her brother Gene died and continued her college studies in business while working various jobs.
Elizabeth met Carroll Ray Rowe while he was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado. They married three months later on December 21, 1956 in Denver, Colorado. They moved to Winston Salem, North Carolina before moving to Santa Monica, California where they were blessed with three daughters; Jennifer Jean, Lauren Lise’ and Elizabeth Ellen (Elise). They later moved to St. Louis, Missouri and then finally to Winter Park, Florida where Carroll worked for the Martin Marietta Company until his untimely death in 1973.
Elizabeth was a member of the First Congregational Church of Winter Park and resided in Winter Park, Florida since 1966. She had a successful career with the Florida Department of Labor and in 1985 graduated from Rollins College with a degree in Business Administration.
Elizabeth and Major Sterling Louis Tuck married February 14, 1990. They had a happy union of 27 years combining their two families, especially on holidays. They spent their years of retirement traveling the world. Sterling passed away July 13,2017.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughters Lauren Rowe Schonk (Bill) and Elise Legg (Laird); four grandchildren Ashley Schonk Aguirre (Andrew), David Schonk, Drew Dietrich and Cory Duncan; one great granddaughter Annalise Aguirre; three stepchildren Stephen Tuck, Kimberley Duncan (Jerry) and Robert Tuck; step grandchildren Harmoni Tuck, Connor Tuck, Madison Tuck and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by all of her five siblings: Earl Brock, Eugene Brock, Normal Kahl (Hilbert), Bettie Grasmick (Gus) Nina Torres (Manuel); her children’s father Carroll Ray Rowe, her first born daughter Jennifer Jean Rowe, her grandson Dane Hunter Dietrich and her step granddaughter Morgan Tuck.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be at the held at the home of Lauren and Bill Schonk for family members and close friends. Elizabeth would like to be remembered by the song “I’m Always Chasing Rainbows.”
