Cindy Maher, age 77, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Casselberry, FL on Friday evening, January 18, 2019. Cindy was born Wei Mei Lin on April 9, 1941 in Taiwan to Yung-Chen Lin and Tsang-Amen Lin. She was the fourth born of 7 children.
In the mid 1960’s, a mutual friend introduced Cindy to Jim Maher, who became her husband of 42 years. They had three children. Jimmy and Jeannie were born in Taiwan and Joel was born in Miami, FL. Cindy and Jim raised their children in Costa Rica before permanently relocating to Central Florida in 1984.
Cindy had a great drive within her to excel and never settle. What she wanted most was to make sure her children and grandchildren were very well taken care of. She lived her whole life striving to make sure her children did not have to endure the financial hardships she dealt with in her young life. In 1989 she gambled her life savings joining her nephews in a business venture opening Computer Warehouse of Central Florida, Inc. After a few successful years her gamble paid off. Thanks to her keen business sense Computer Warehouse has provided her family with the financial stability that she always strived for. Her company will be celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
Cindy will be remembered for her strong will, her generosity, her classic elegant style and her unwavering love for her family. She enjoyed traveling and always looked forward to her regular trips with her children, grandchildren, siblings and dear friends. Cindy had a passion for orchids and enjoyed playing slot machines & watching Korean Soap Operas.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and her loving husband. She is survived by three sisters and two brothers. Her legacy lives on through her three children and 8 grandchildren.
There will be a private memorial service held for family and close friends at the National Cremation and Burial Society, 7565 Red Bug Lake Road Oviedo, FL 32765 on February 3, 2019 from 11:00am-1pm
