Alton Troy Grant, 28, passed away around 4 a.m., Saturday, June 18, 2016, from a one vehicle accident in rural Chuluota, Florida. Troy was born February 19, 1988, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. During his childhood, he lived in Mannford, Oklahoma; College Station, Texas; Coral Springs, Florida; McMurray, Pennsylvania; South Boston, Virginia; Chuluota, Florida; and Henderson, Nevada. He was a resident of Chuluota, Florida for 20 years. Throughout his late teens and young adult life, he traveled South America, and lived for months at a time in Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia. In 2008, he graduated at the top of his class as a master welder at Tulsa Welding School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Most recently, he was hired as a welder by Disney to assist them in constructing their upcoming Avatar ride. Troy had a strong passion for music that began at a young age when he learned to play the guitar, and as an early teen was a practicing songwriter. He had an inquiring mind which led him to building specialty guitars and restoring automobiles. One of his proudest accomplishments was his 1985 Ford Ranger diesel truck. His other areas of devotion included kite surfing, golf, gardening, nutrition, exercise, and sustainable living. Not only did he put his own time into practicing and mastering his interests, but would also help and encourage others who shared a common goal. He is survived by his mother and father, Randy and Lucia Grant, and his two sisters, Betanya and Katrina Grant. Services will be held at 6pm, Sunday, June 26, 2016, at the Grant residence, 2973 Pickett Downs Drive, Chuluota, FL 32766.
