Ruth LaVern Hollandsworth, age 87, of Overland Park, KS passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015. Funeral services will be 3 pm on Saturday, January 24th at Hillcrest Christian Church, 11411 Quivira Road, Overland Park, KS with visitation from 2-3 pm at the church prior to the service. Private burial will be in Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Ruth was born on February 14, 1927 in Drake, MO. She married Earl Marvin Hollandsworth on January 3, 1948. She worked in the Stationary Dept. at TG&Y for over 20 years. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Marvin Hollandsworth and 3 grandchildren. She is survived by 3 daughters, Glenda Brakke (Dave) of Overland Park, KS, Karen Huffman of Bonner Springs, KS and Brenda Mitchell (Rob) of Overland Park, KS; 2 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
