Mary Louise Cushing

Mary Louise Cushing, 103, died on July 11th. The Funeral Mass will be 11:30 am on Saturday, July 14th at St. Ann Church, 7231 Mission Road, Prairie Village, KS; visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass. Burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. Memorial contributions might be made to St. Ann or St. Thomas Aquinas High School.

Mary Louise was born at home to Mary and Paul Froeschl on March 30, 1915. She attended Guardian Angels and Our Lady of Sorrows grade school, Loretta Academy and Webster College in St. Louis. On September 30, 1936, Mary Louise and Con Cushing were united in Holy Matrimony; they enjoyed 56 very happy years together until Con’s death in 1992. They had two daughters, Susan Molen (Joe) and Cathy Hazlett. They made their home in Prairie Village and were founding members of St. Ann Catholic Church. Both said the highlight of their life together was attending Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
