William Hunter

Peacefully on Saturday, May7th, 2011, in his 82nd year at the Perley and Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre. Predeceased by his beloved wife Marion and dear sister Gwen Dowe. Dear father of Cindy (Bryan Fevrier) and Nancy (Brent Doherty) and loving step-father of Kim (Burt Kelly) and Tracy Beaupre.

Proud grandfather of Jarrett, Jordan, Jennifer, Christopher, Curtis, Jeffrey, Michael, Cody, Stephanie and Hunter. Fondly remembered by Joan (Lyons) and many nieces and nephews. A veteran of the Korean War, Bill will be remembered for his long time service to the Royal Canadian Legion as a past President of the Montgomery Legion, his dedication to the Poppy Fund campaign and as the Head of Mission driver at the Australian High Commission for over 25 years. The family wishes to extend its heartfelt thanks to everyone at the PRVHC (especially Gatineau 1 North & Rideau 2 South), for their exceptional and very compassionate care. Friends and family are invited to call on Monday, May 16th, 7-9 pm at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home (1411 Hunt Club Road). Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 17th, 1:00 pm at the Perley and Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre (1750 Russell Road) in Lupton Hall.
