Peacefully in hospital on Saturday, December 11, 2010 with her loving family at her side. After 13 years of living with breast cancer she felt very lucky to be able to see the many family milestones in that time. She will be sadly missed by her husband Ted, her son Christopher (Jennifer), her beautiful new granddaughter, Noa, her brother, Nigel (Jean) in England, 8 brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, 9 nieces and nephews and a great-niece and great-nephew. She was predeceased by her parents Maj. George and Muriel Eames of England. Lesley spent several years with the British Foreign Office and Ottawa businesses but late in life followed her dream and wrote two mysteries under the pen-name of Thom Vivien. Lesley's sharp mind, dry wit, empathy and commitment were an important part of the close friendship among the members of her Breast Cancer support group over the years. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 10 a.m. in the chapel of McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road at Albion Road on Friday, December 17, 2010. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. On line condolences may be sent to www.mcevoy-shields.com
