(née Nasrallah, born July 12, 1930 )
is now resting in the arms of the lord.
She passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by love, on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at the age of 93.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Elia Mikhail Nasrallah and Bahia Saab.
Devoted wife of the late Toufic Tannis (1971).
Loving mother of Mike (Sonia Saab), Theo (Saloma Rabbat), Eli (Joyce Malouf), Camilla (Lou (Elie) Malouf), and Kammal (Ibtissam Saghbini). She was tragically predeceased by her precious daughter Karen (Mounir Nesrallah), and her cherished sisters, Nouhad Haddad (late Adib) and Mary Nasrallah (late Mikhael). Survived by her dear siblings, Mikhail Nasrallah (June), Najla Nesrallah (late Ralph), Noha Abou Nehme (late John) and Marcelle Nesrallah (George). She was grandmother and great-grandmother to 21 adoring grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and loyal and doting godmother to 23.Her many friends and relatives will miss her loyal companionship and sense of humour.
Her story is a remarkable one. From the small farming village of Kfarmishky, Lebanon she found herself widowed at the age of 40, with 6 children and a failing business in her new home of Canada. With the support of family, friends and our community , almost miraculously, Tannis Trading Inc. not only survived but thrived. Her progeny eventually took over and grew the company into a local success story. Souad dedicated her life to family, friends, faith, charity (Tannis 21 foundation) and community but always found time to enjoy life and a party. She was always a stalwart contributor in the kitchen at Saint Elias Cathedral and wherever else she was needed . “Sito” Sue loved to host large gatherings at our Tweedsmuir “Southfork” , where she displayed her extraordinary culinary skills. Her baklava was legendary as was her roast beef, but for an entirely different reason. Mom lived a full and glorious life and everything we have we owe to her tenacious and boundless love. Special thanks to our dear Dr. Yeats and to all of mom’s caring and loving PSW’s , especially Cherry, Sanie & Analyn.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road, 613-737-7900
