Melvin Augustus Jacobs

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Melvin Augustus Jacobs, born on October 31, 1940, formerly of Trinity Ville, St.Thomas, Jamaica and currently of Ottawa, Canada. Our loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and father-in-law, suddenly left us on September 6, 2022 at the age of 81 years.

Melvin is survived by wife Daphne, his sons Michael, Paul, Richard, Dayne, his grandchildren Mikael, Rasheem, Dayna, Jermaine, Chantal and Jellice and his great-grand children Preston, Jahleel, Mia, Hazaiah, Jakim and Eitan. Melvin is also survived by his siblings, his twin brother Stanford, Winston and Elsita. Melvin will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, his daughters-in-law and his other many relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road (at Albion Road), Ottawa on Saturday, October 8, 2022 for a visitation after 10:30 am. A funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 11:30 am, followed by a time of fellowship and reception in the reception centre at McEvoy-Shields, all are welcome to join. Due to health concerns in the family guests are encouraged to please wear a mask.
