Lise passed away in Ottawa, on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the age of 66 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents Samuel Larabie and Alice née Bellefeuille and brother Ronald Larabie, and survived by her sister Huguette Larabie, brothers Gilles (Louise Demontigny), Guy, several nephews, nieces and cousins and by Donald her beloved husband of 45 years, sons Martin (Theresa Gouin), grandson Tristan, Daniel (Amelia Ireland), granddaughter Véronica and daughter Anik (Kevin Gaudet), grandson Sebastien. Lise was a military wife and mother who followed her husband’s postings across Canada ending in her home city of Ottawa in the late 1990s. She was devoted to the arts and spent several years with Arts Ottawa East (Gloucester Arts Council) providing administrative support to artists and arts groups in Ottawa. Lise loved music and dance, singing in church choirs and dancing in a French folkloric dance group in British Columbia including the opening and closing ceremonies of the XV Commonwealth Games in Victoria. She was an active member of the East Gate Alliance church and a volunteer at the Montfort Hospital. Our dear wife and mother will be remembered for her gentle demeanour and loving spirit. Following her wishes, a short visitation will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home, 180 Montreal Road, Ottawa. A memorial service will follow at 4:30 p.m. at Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date. For those who wish and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Cancer Centre in memory of Lise would be appreciated.
