Heather Ann Cartier

Passed away suddenly, on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at the age of 64. She is predeceased by her father Aurele “Earl” Cartier. She leaves behind her mother, Edythe Cartier, sisters Donna (Doug) Hibbard and Alison (Rick) Morris, niece Veronica, nephew Owen and her many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Heather reminisced fondly on her visits to her grandparents at the Chesterville farm as a youngster. She was a spirited child, always knowing where her grandmothers and mother kept the cookie jar. Ottawa has been Heather’s home her entire life. She retired after close to 30 years of dedicated service with the RCMP (CSIS division). She enjoyed attending live performances at the NAC, and loved to travel with her girlfriends. Heather was an avid reader, enjoyed a good Hallmark movie, and was quite interested in her family’s genealogy. She was a proud aunt of Veronica and Owen. Heather always enjoyed visiting with friends and family and loved attending family reunions.

A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home and Chapel, 1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa, (613) 737-7900, on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at the Funeral Home. Donations in memory of Heather may be made to your local hospital.
