I found out only recently about Fred's passing. He and I were quite close when in our early 20s, but sadly we lost touch for quite a while after I moved to Calgary, then Vancouver. We met briefly for a coffee a few years ago when I visited Ottawa, and we had a bit of a catch-up. Of course, I always thought we would catch up again sometime, but that was not meant to be. My sincere condolences to Dawn and the rest of Fred's family and friends. He was a lovely man.

Hi Fred  ... you're in my thoughts every day and this will be your first Christmas in Heaven. You will be singing with the angels. I miss you but that means you're in my heart always. I love you uncle Freddy, you have touched my heart just like you have touched many others. Your smile and laugh is always with me and your kind words and smart answers! I took a 2hr. walk just so we could enjoy the country road the other day and when I go for a drive in the car I play Dixie Chick's up full and the windows down, also I pick your favorite tomatoes to plant in my garden this year. When the Lord needed a choir director to lead the angels in song He called on Fred who He knew will create the most beautiful harmonies.

Our  condolences to Fred's family. It is so hard to find the words at a time like this that will help your aching heart. I know I have a smile when I think of the times spent together in our youth, after we each had families and when the families grew up. The trips he made to New Brunswick and the trips we made to Ottawa. Fred was so full of fun and enjoyed life with a great love to his family. In so many ways he was adorable, much like his mom Sadie. His welcoming heart was wonderful. We were so looking forward to visiting Fred this summer and am sorry that this will not happen. I am heartbroken and so deeply sorry for your loss. Fred's passing will no doubt leave an immeasurable void for all who were lucky enough to have known him and loved him.
