The Hnatiw family are sad to announce the passing of their father, Frank Hnatiw. Frank was born on November 13, 1941 in Elphinstone MB, the eldest child of Nellie and Michael Hnatiw. In 1948, to be closer to extended family, they moved to Winnipeg where many of their relatives continue to reside today. Frank attended the school for the blind in Brantford, ON where he met his lifelong friends Joe, Albert and Ernie. Frank graduated with a degree in Education and a bachelor of art from the University of Manitoba and worked as a teacher for several years. As Frank started to lose more of his vision, he returned to school to re-train which launched a long, successful career at the department of Finance in the Federal government. He loved music, especially blues and jazz, fishing, bowling, was the master of Trivial Pursuit especially for the sports category, as well as playing card games and listening to audiobooks. He cared deeply about his family, animals and the environment. Frank is survived by two daughters, Megan (Alex) and Jill; two sisters, Lee (Norm) and Dianne (Bruce) Chwartacki; four grandchildren, Laura, Catherine, Daniel and Audrey as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins, nieces and nephews. As per Frank`s wishes, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, make an investment in our future and don`t vote conservative.
