George, my deepest condolences to you and your family. Being together for so long, you and Carmel must have had a beautiful and incredible marriage. I know only too well what you are going through. I met you only very briefly while Carmel and my wife, Sylvia, were undergoing chemo together. At that time I was so glad that they found each other and hope they have found each other again. Life will never be the same again, but it goes on...the warm and beautiful memories you have of your time together will help you find your way back and hopefully bring some peace and comfort to you. Remain strong and please take care of yourself.

Dear Carmel... Tonight I sit here by the computer and can't believe my sister's one year anniversary of passing is coming up in March... I go online to read her obituaries to find comfort in the lovely things people said about her legacy... there, I find your kind words and am also touched that you had met only three weeks earlier yet took the time to send your warm sympathies and kind words. I'm sorry you didn't make it Carmel... But I hope you and my sister manage to get together up their in the beautiful heavens, or amongst the beautiful clouds as she would say...as you never got to get together again here on earth. I'm sure you would both have formed a nice friendship. I was saddened to find you in this area, but thankful that I found you ~ I'm very sorry... I know that doesn't make any sense... I was hoping to find you on facebook or something and send you a freind request or message... Carmel, you were probably one of her most recent newest friends here, things turned around quite quickly for her near the end as things went downhill... I am sure had it been different you would have established a life long friendship...now that friendship is to grow elsewhere as you found a friend in your new journey to great you...  I send my deepest sympathies to your family as I write to you in tears and see your beautiful picture and smile here. I'm so sorry. I'm a little different...and I try to keep focusing, believing and hoping that their is a much better place, and now... that you are both smiling and chatting it up together in a much much nicer place.

George and family: I am so sorry for your great loss. Carmel was such a warm and loving person. I was lucky enough to work with her at Cognos for 16 years. She was always my best friend there, and I have so many special memories of her at Cognos-sponsored events. In fact, we laughed together a couple of weeks ago about winning a United Way relay race by combining walkers with one runner. Carmel continued to be my friend after my retirement and then hers. I will miss the optimistic outlook and Christian spirit that she displayed right through her illness. She was an inspiration to me and others. May she rest in peace.

I am very sorry to hear of Carmel's passing. I have so many wonderful memories of her and the family from our Holy Family days. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
