Angus "Gus" Anthony O'Connor

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Angus (Gus) O’Connor, peacefully at home as he had wanted, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, June 13th, 2013. It has been 2,007 days since the passing of his beloved wife Theresa (and he kept track!) and they are now reunited. Loving father of Patsy (Paul Cavalier) of Barrhaven, Janie (Stephen Fraser) of Oakville, Shawn (Danielle Bogan) of Barrhaven, Billy (Kathie Davis) of Kanata. Loving grandfather of Ryan Cavalier (Kelly Sullivan) of Kanata, Jonathan Cavalier (Lisa Malanka) of Nuremburg, Germany and Jesse O’Connor of Barrhaven. Great-Grandpa Gus of Mac Cavalier. Survived by his sister Hilda Sullivan (the late Jack) and brother Elmer O’Connor; sisters and brothers-in-law, Helena O’Connor, Diane O’Connor, Tom Sullivan, Margaret & Leonard Daley. He will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends. Predeceased by his parents, William Joseph and Sarah (nee Daly) of Venosta, QC and siblings, Eddie (Gertrude), Linus (Helen), Rita Larabie (Arthur), Arden, Bertha Sullivan, Bert, and infant Orville. Family and friends may pay their respects at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road at Albion Road on Sunday, June 16th, from 2:00pm – 9:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Byron and Woodroffe, on Monday, June 17th at 11:00am. Interment Pinecrest Cemetery.
