Passed away peacefully with family by his side at the Lakeridge Hospital on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the age of 93 years. Predeceased by his beloved wife Isabell (nee Kendall). Loving father of Lou Bomhof (Bob), Jo-ann Tikkanen (Elvis), Bernard Melnick (Lorrie), Shannon Magee (Andy).
Cherished grandfather of 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Dear Brother of Julie Gaetan. Predeceased by his siblings Steven, Walter, John and Annie.
Will be missed by all his family and friends.
Bill was born in Dominion Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. He was a 32 year employee of General Motors Canada; he spent many years helping others as a substance abuse representative and a sponsor to many at AA, where he was a member for 54 years.
Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME 847 King Street West on Tuesday November 19, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday November 20, 2024 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 1100 Mary St. N., Oshawa (Mary St., N. and Beatrice St., E.) at 10:30 am.
