It is with love and grateful hearts on Thursday, May 27th, 2010 that we remember a life well lived. Marion was predeceased by her devoted and loving husband Jack Dwyer. Marion was born in Peterborough, but spent most of her youth on the family farm in Kirby after which she resided in Oshawa. Marion graduated as a R.N. from the Oshawa General Hospital in 1938 and went on to enjoy a successful nursing careen for over 42 years, both public and private. She was a long time member of Northminister United Church and very active in quilting and bazaars. Her strong faith and sense of humour, which she never lost, will be an inspiration to her family, daughter Mary Risebrough (Paul), her cherished and loved granddaughters Jenna Johnstone (Geoff) and Jane, a loving sister-in-law Rita Wilson, and many nieces and nephews. She was an avid gardener both at home and at her Muskoka cottage where she vacationed for over 40 years. Marion’s family will dearly miss her, but deep and loving memories will ensure she remains a part of their lives. Sincere thanks to a very special and caring friend Melanie, Dr. Reed, as well as the staff at The Wynfield. Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Monday, May 31st at 10:00 A.M. until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 11:00 A.M. Interment Orono Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
