To all the Nolan family, I am so sorry to hear of Ken passing. My deepest condolences are with you all.

I first met Ken back in October of 1982.  I decided to go out with my friends that night not intending to meet any men.  Just some laughs with friends.   It was truly love at first sight for both of us.  We danced and he never asked for my phone number but showed up at my job the next day.  That was the best day of my life apart from the births of our 4 children and 2 grandchildren.   We were given many miracles.  The first was a beautiful home through Habitat for Humanity, the second was a double lung transplant which he lasted 9 years after and the 3rd was that he was able to get home from the hospital to be with his family during covid and even though he knew what his fate was he had the will to hold on to be with our daughter,  (Saleen) on her birthday (Dec. 24) and Christmas day with us.  He loved us all so much and we feel he is still with us and will watch over us forever. Thank you to everyone for your support.  There are too many to mention but please know it has meant so much to our family.  God bless you all.

Music has brought the best and most cherished friends and connections into my life.. Ken and his family being no exception! I still remember the first time we all met at Saleen and Chelsea's CD release party. It was quickly VERY clear how happy and close of a family they were. They truly all acted more like best friends than family. It was refreshing to see. It was also VERY clear that Ken was a big goof ball with an amazing ability to make people smile.. I soon learned of the hardships and health issues he fought through, and yet still the happiest, most positive outgoing person I think I knew! He really was one huge beacon of light! I remember the craziest most original Go-Karts he had at his place when I showed up there to visit.  I instantly said to myself "those are so a Ken Go-Karts" lol him and his whole family are nothing short of inspirational.. He was SO supportive and encouraging pushing his daughters musically. They were all huge supporters of anything involving local arts.. his shine truly lives on in the family and the children he put so much of himself into. He lived for them. He fought for them, and he fought and made damn sure he made it home for Saleens birthday and Christmas, when most probably couldn't of fought and made it that far.. its just who he was. I was very proud to know him and call him a good friend..  I am also equally grateful that I got to know and call friends his amazing family.  His smile, light, and passion will show and reflect in all they cone to do in life.. you left your mark on everyone and all you touched dear friend!! You will be so very missed!! To the Noland, I am so deeply sorry for your loss! 

My wife Judith introduced Ken - Diane and their wonderful children into our lives  a few years ago.  
Ken and Judy were both lung transplant patients  at the Toronto General Hospital . 
They met at TGH during an annual check up following surgery.
It was a surprise to meet another person from our town with  a similar story. 
Ken  was an organizer and he decided that he would be the driver for the trips into town for the both of them  when they had appointments .  Truth be known I am not sure he trusted my driving skills following my eye surgery.
Ken was so easy to like and was always there to help anyone who he thought might need it.  It is comforting to Know that Judy and Ken  are in heaven together .
I wonder if Ken will teach Judy how to make art work out of duct tape.  I believe he came to the rescue of the Oshawa Santa Claus  parade one year. 
He fixed a  problem  on one of the floats with duct tape. 
What a hero for the kids,
A warm wonderful and talented husband and father.

Chester Block

Ken and Diane were neighbors to me that very quickly became the best friends I could ever wish for.  The family's strength and love showed me the way family should be and even more. Ken had a special connection with animals that also encouraged and guided me through some hard times with my tiny dog where I thought I was losing her. Ken will always be remembered for his love of his family, his values, and love of life and animals.  Fly with the angels my friend till we all meet again❤

I will never forget the first time I met Ken and Diane in 2009 as they signed up to become volunteers at Habitat for Humanity to help build the first home in Oshawa.  Little did we know at the time that they would come to own that home.  We couldn’t keep Ken out of the trenches.  Literally.   I would show up in the morning after torrential downpours to find Ken pumping out the water drenched hole where the foundation was later laid.  He was knee deep in mud with his oxygen tank in tow!!!! He was warned that he wasn’t to be doing that because he needed a double lung transplant!  I later had to ban him from the site when we were doing the drywall sanding (for his own safety) and honestly I thought he was going to tackle me at the door!!!!  DETERMINED, hardworking, loving and such an incredible father ALWAYS.  We often said to Ken and Diane that they should seriously train people how to be such incredible parents.   Kapri, Austin, Chels and Saleen  you were the light of his life, he loves you beyond all.   Diane you have always sparked a gleaming love in his eyes - true love.    Ken is and always will be a bright spot in my life, I loved his humour and his constant smile.  Love you all.
