Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on November 17th, 2011 in her 80th year, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Loving wife of Donald (Oshawa) for 59 years. Devoted mother of Kathryn Hardy-Baur (Joachim) of Newcastle and caring grandmother of Luke. Dear sister of Lucille Pierson. Irma is predeceased by sisters May Rutter, Evelyn Sweetman, Doris Cole and Norma Short, and brothers William and Charles Wade. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the dedicated staff of Durham Regional Cancer Centre for the many years of excellent care. Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Monday, November 21st at 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment Bowmanville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorial donations be made to the Durham Regional Cancer Centre.
