Passed away peacefully at the age of 91 at Chartwell Trilogy Long Term Care Residence in Scarborough on Friday March 27, 2020 with family members by his side.
Harold will be lovingly remembered by the "Love of his life", Joan Laura Degrow Windatt, his wife of 67 years. Loving father to his daughters B. Lorraine Hewett (Jim) and Brenda McCauley. Predeceased by his daughter Judy Cunningham and son-in-law Peter Cunningham. He will be fondly remembered by his five grandchildren Meaghan Lyon (David), Kevin Hewett, Jocelyn Overton (Dave), Lyle Cunningham and Sean McCauley and his three great grandchildren Nicholas, Christopher and McKenna. Dear brother to Doug McAuley, John Bell (Ralph) and brother-in-law to John Leadley. Also fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
Harold was a proud retiree of the General Motors Van Plant in Scarborough with over 30 years of service. Harold was known for his great sense of humour and his passion for fishing and hunting. Above all, Harold's family meant everything to him and he meant everything to his family.
A very special thank you to the staff on the seventh floor of Chartwell Trilogy in Scarborough for taking such great care of Harold over the past few years.
A Celebration of Harold's life will take place in the future once a gathering is allowed. Donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Toronto in Harold's memory would be appreciated.
