In his 76th year, Alex died suddenly on Sunday, July 2nd, 2011 at Sunnybrook Health Centre. Beloved husband of 55 years to Mary Ellen and devoted father to William (Robin), John (Kim), Maureen (Dale), Mary (Edward) and Michael (Glenda). Beloved son of the late Catherine and John Muir and son-in-law of the late William and Mary O’Malley. Brother to Cathie (late Ray), Frank (Margaret), Violet (late Tom), and Edward (late Sandra). Brother-in-law of Aileen (Don) and Kathryan (John). Predeceased by brothers George (late Margaret), James, John, and sisters Sadie (late Bill), Pat (late Bob), Mary, and sisters-in-law Rita (late Michael and Leo), and Genevieve. Cherished grandfather to Nicholas (Kathleen), Matthew (Sarah), Krista, Kelly (Adam), Danielle (deceased), Scott (Tammy), Adam, Keenan, Katie, Julie, Jake, Shannon, Jarrett and Mackenzie, and great grandfather to Reilly. Alex will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, and friends from his extended Knights of Columbus family. Family and friends may call at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, Oshawa (905-721-1234) for visitation on Tuesday, July 5th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. JOHN THE EVANGELIST CHURCH (903 Gifford St., Whitby) on Wednesday, July 6th at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family gratefully requests donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation and St. Vincent de Paul.
