Richard T. Barker Sr

Richard T Barker Sr, of Ormond Beach, Florida, peacefully passed away at his home on Sunday, June 5, 2022, at the age of 87. Born in 1935 in Roosevelt, Long Island, he relocated to Florida in the early 1970s.

He Is survived by his loving wife of 47 years MaryAnn Barker; his children Alicia (Lars) Holbrook, Debbie (Roger) Wolfe, Robin (Herb) Young, Lisa (Joe) Herbert, Richard (Karen Sewell) Barker Jr, Lisa Ann Giaquinto; two sisters Marianne Wetterer and Kathleen Reid, two brothers Edward (Joanne) Barker and Donald (Stacia) Reid; 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

Immensely proud of his Irish heritage, he often attributed his 87 years to being an "ornery Irishman". He will always be remembered as the Patriarch of Clan Barker for his selfless commitment to family and his ability to always bring the family together, especially during adversity. His tall commanding presence was balanced by the warmest hugs, great sense of humor, the best belly laugh ever, and just his warm, loving soul. As a jack of all trades, he mastered a few and passed along his love and talent for construction to his son Richie and grandson Brian. Although a man of few words, he was immensely proud of all of his children and grandchildren and they always felt it when he would hug them.

A Celebration of Life and visitation for Richard will be held Sunday, June 12, 2022, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 N. Nova Road, Ormond Beach, Florida 32174. A funeral service will occur Sunday, June 12, 2022, from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM, 548 N. Nova Road, Ormond Beach, FL 32174. A graveside service will occur Sunday, June 12, 2022, from 2:15 PM to 2:30 PM at Volusia Memorial Park, 550 N. Nova Road, Ormond Beach, Florida 32174.
