My Mother and I were so sorry to hear about Karen. We grew up in Fernandina.
Were next door neighbors. Had a lot of
fun times on the beach. My Mother, Billie Dee and Tess were friends. 
We send our sympathy and love.

Dear Michell and Family, 
I was a roommate with Karen and Michell for over a year. In that time Karen was a big sister to me. She always had a way to make everyone smile. She put Michell first and she deeply loved her. She loved all of you so very much. I can not think of a single thought of Karen and not chuckle. She had such a way of turning lemons to lemonade. May her joyful spirit live through you. My love and prayers are with you. Michell the Lord protects those who have the loss of a parent. I promise you. I believe she is with you . You will always have a place in my heart as a little girl. I am shocked and so sorry to hear of her passing. I have worked for many years in the hospitality industry and met with her many times. I wish I had known sooner about her passing. Thoughts and prayers to  the family. She will be missed. Arden Staaf

It was a pleasure to know and work with Karen when she worked for the Health Department.  She was a kind soul with a heart of gold.  She inspired us to see things in a different light and accept the things in life we can not change.  Like her sun sign, this fish will swim in the sea of love forever.  My sincere condolences to her family in the tragic loss of such a beautiful spirit.  May GOD bless and keep you!

May you find comfort knowing that when someone we love leaves us to be with God, he leaves our family and friends to help us heal.  I am deeply saddened by Karens passing.  May God Bless you and your family.

It is so sad that such an eternally young woman has unexpectedly left us. A good poet and a wonderful person.  Sincere condolences to her family.

It was a pleasure to know Karen and listen to her poetry.  She always had a sweet smile and an ever present hand to help others.  She will be missed by her fellow Tomoka Poets.  Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and we hope that good memories will overshadow their grief and speed healing.

How blessed we were to have Karen in our lives.  Life will be much more difficult for everyone without her.  She was an exceptional role model for all.  We know she dedicated much of her life to always be there for you.   She will always be remembered as a loving mom, a devoted daughter and a best friend sister, a beloved niece and a wonderful cousin.  We are all saddened that Karen did not have more time to stop and smell her roses or to travel as she had often talked about because she so deserved it.  We were all so very amazed and proud of her this summer when she brought Aunt Tess home to Connecticut to visit.  Visiting Florida will never be quite the same without visiting her.
