Joseph Vaughan Hamilton 85, left this world to be with our lord on January 7th 2018. Joseph was born the son of Hugh and Kathleen Hamilton. He grew up in White Plains New York the youngest of six children; 2 sisters and three brothers.
Joseph fondly recalled his time in the Navy during the Korean War serving as ship storekeeper on the USS Ajax. Later he attended Pace College and the Insurance College of New York. After a successful career as an underwriting Vice President, he retired from FM Global and spent many days in the Florida sunshine on the golf course, where he proudly scored two holes in one. He also enjoyed travelling and was an active member in the church community. He was a life-long member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and Minister to the Sick.
He was pre-deceased by his first wife Marie Hamilton, daughter Kathleen Hamilton Cuva and grandson Frank Forte Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife Ann J Hamilton, Daughters Mary Gaunt, Debbie Forte, Ann Hardgrove, Susan Mailler, Jeannette Miller, his son Joseph Vaughan Hamilton Jr and his daughters Linda Oesterwinter, Colleen Fooshkill, Caroline Orsillo as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Joseph enjoyed many evenings playing games with his family, always initiating a family game of kickball or trivial pursuit. He was a loyal friend, humble and a true gentleman .

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m.Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church 600 South Nova Road Ormond Beach. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.volusiamemorialfunerals.com
