Dorothy was born on August 10, 1930, to Eugene Franklin Dillman and Ovia Lorraine (Musgrove). She and her older siblings, Geneva (Maggard), Mary (Fisher), and Ray were all raised in the midwest, primarily Kansas and Illinois.
On June 25, 1955, Dorothy (or as Johnnie called her, Sweet Pea) married Johnnie Wilson, and later that year they welcomed their son Joe Edward. Johnnie was enlisted in the United States Army, and this allowed Dorothy to travel the world with him, as he was stationed in many different locations.
Dorothy spent much of her teen years and young adult life babysitting for friends and family. After Johnnie retired from the military, Dorothy went to work for Southwestern Bell and retired in the early 90s.
Dorothy was always quiet, reserved, and shy, but she enjoyed joining others in making a little mischief. She enjoyed bowling and played on a league for many years. She also loved dogs and had many beloved pets over the years. Most of all she loved her son, Joe. He was her pride and joy, and always quick to make her laugh.
Dorothy leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Yvonne Wilson; grandchildren, Amanda (Michael) Wilson-Stovall, and Kristen Wilson; her two great-grandchildren, Kenzie and Damon as well as nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her husband, Johnnie, and her son, Joe.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.volusiamemorialfunerals.com for the Wilson family.
