Wilfred Ivanhoe Colson

Bill leaves behind his beloved wife, Kathryn Odlin Colson. The childhood sweethearts celebrated their 74th anniversary in June 2022.

Bill graduated from Shrewsbury High School in 1944. After graduating HS, Bill joined the US Navy (1944-1946) becoming an aviation ordnanceman.

After serving in the US Navy, Bill enrolled in the University of Maine, graduating in 1951 with a degree in Forestry. Bill worked at Spags in Shrewsbury, MA for 15 years before moving to Brewster, MA, in the 1970’s, to join his son Leon as a partner in Colson’s Landscaping.

In Brewster, Bill built the couples retirement home with his own hands in Sheep Pond Estates.

Bill volunteered for many years at the Natural History Museum in Brewster because of his passion for archaeology and nature.

Bill Colson is survived by his beloved wife Kathryn Colson: Three children, Kelsa Morrill and her husband Jim of Canton MA, Leon Colson and his wife Jo-Anne of Brewster MA & Thomas Colson and his wife Mari of Harwich, MA. Bill is also survived by 7 grand-children and 7 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Museum of Natural History of Brewster, MA.

Funeral and burial will be held at 11:00 AM September 26th at the Brewster Memorial Cemetery, 631 Harwich Rd. (Route 124), Brewster, MA.
