Sue M. McNutt, age 86, of Orleans, Massachusetts died peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2024 while holding the hand of her beloved husband, Dr. J. Robert McNutt, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage. Born February 3, 1938 at Hepzibah, West Virginia, daughter of Franklin Martin and Madelon Carrico Martin (both deceased), she resided in Orleans since 1968. Was raised and educated in West Virginia and held degrees from West Virginia University and Wheelock College. She also took training in piano accompaniment at New England Conservatory and Hartt School of Music. After working at Jefferson Medical College during Bob's studies, she founded Curiosity Shop Nursery School in Orleans. She leaves her cherished husband Bob and wonderful family - sons Kevin and Craig (and wife Marge) and granddaughter Meaghan.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 31st from 4 - 6 pm at Nickerson Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life at 6:00 pm, family and friends encouraged to share their best stories about Sue. The evening will conclude with a reception at the funeral home.
