Shaun was born March 24, 1981 and attended schools in Brewster, Orleans and Eastham.
He loved music, played the guitar and was an outstanding drummer. During high school, he was involved in a rock band from Southborough. He was also quite artistically inclined.
Shaun enjoyed sports and played soccer, basketball and was involved football games at the VFW. He also enjoyed fishing and kayaking. Shaun closely followed the Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins, and was an avid fan.
Although Shaun had high hopes of being a rock star, reality set in and he became a roofer and builder. His skill and precision were admirable, as the various contractors for whom he worked could attest.
Shaun had a heart of gold and was kind and generous to a fault. He also had a great love of animals, both dogs and cats.
Shaun is pre-deceased by his brother Ryan, and is survived by his mother Robin and step-father Scott Slaven of Brewster, his father James and step-mother Jean Marshall of Orleans, his sister Brianna Slaven, his girlfriend Courtney Reardon to whom he was planning to become engaged, and his dear cat Dexter. He also leaves his grandparents Ethel and Robert Hunter, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 23rd from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA 02653, followed by a memorial service at Brewster Baptist Church, Rt. 6A, Brewster, MA 02631. Jim and Jean Marshall will not be in attendance at either, but will be hosting a celebration of Shaun’s life on Saturday, July 1st at the Brewster VFW from 12:00 noon until 3:00 PM.
