Ronnie Lee (Munsey) Jamieson passed into the presence of the Lord on November 12, 2023. Ronnie was born on August 18, 1938 to the late Gardner E. Munsey and Mary Melissa (Wilcox) Munsey at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis. She was married to Bruce A. Jamieson for 55 years until his passing on August 16, 2011.
Ronnie is survived by her daughter Lori Jamieson Newcomb (husband Clint) and sons Gardner E. Jamieson and Randall K. Jamieson (wife Tara) daughter in law Angela; sister Christie Due Turner, Granddaughters Ashley (Jamieson) Cole and Tian Jamieson, Grandsons Craig, Tyler, Derek, Brandon, Logan, Kyle, Matt, Christopher, Dominic and six great grandsons and two great granddaughters and many nieces and nephews and their families; cousins Rob Williams (wife Elaine) and Judy Reynard (husband Clay) and their families. She was predeceased by her son Bruce M. Jamieson. her sister Jean Munsey Lai and daughter in law Pamela Jamieson.
Ronnie graduated from Orleans High School in 1956 and was the president of her senior class, had the leading role in the Senior Class Play “Our Town” and was known for her wonderful singing talent. During her high school year’s she performed in school events, talent shows and family record hops as well as church and sometimes performed with her two sisters, but always the lead singer. She worked part time at the lunch counter at the Orleans Pharmacy (which is now where CVS is) and as a telephone operator.
She was a member of the Cape Cod Bible Alliance Church in Brewster from the time they started meeting at the Masonic Hall in Orleans participating in the children’s and adult choirs and playing piano at church services. Her keen interest was in helping others, particularly children.
She received her CNA/HHA certification at Cape Cod Community College. She and her husband fostered many foster children through the years, some of whom still stayed in touch with her.
She and her husband owned Hopkins Cleaners in Orleans for many years and Ronnie also worked for the Town of Orleans as an Assistant Town Clerk. She loved gardening and tending to her house plants. Her greatest joy in her last few years were her birds which she could see through her window at Liberty Commons. She loved all of her family visits and going out to eat and spending time at family homes. The staff at Liberty loved her and she will be missed there as well. Ronnie touched many lives through the years and was loved by many.
Visiting hours will be held at Nickerson Funeral Home in Orleans on Monday, November 20, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM followed by a service from 6:00 to 7:00pm. Her burial, at a later date, will be private.
