Marianne Robinson, 68, died unexpectedly and peacefully at her home in Orleans, MA on September 19, 2022. Marianne was the daughter of John and Mary Fahey of West Roxbury, MA. She is survived by her son Zack Robinson and his wife Katie Robinson, her son Nick Robinson and his fiancé Brittany Taylor, and her sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Michael Mooradian.
Marianne was born and raised in Boston. A graduate of Mt. St. Joseph Academy, she was looking forward to celebrating her 50th reunion this month. After spending some time in California, Marianne settled down on Cape, where she’s happily resided for the last 40 years. Affectionately known around town as the “Cable Lady,” Marianne dedicated 22 years in customer service at Comcast’s Orleans branch, where she enjoyed making connections with the community.
Her proudest accomplishment in life was raising two good, but challenging boys. As a single mother, Marianne worked extremely hard and made many sacrifices to provide for her family. She was a caring and nurturing mother and homemaker and her chicken pot pies and mashed potatoes will be greatly missed.
Marianne was fortunate enough to spend nearly 23 years with “her person” Randy Pate before his passing in 2018. Together they loved to spend time with family and friends, go out dancing, frequent the Cape’s Irish pubs, and take in a sunset at Rock Harbor.
Marianne was a doer with an untiring work ethic and, in her retirement, she focused that energy on countless house projects and garden work. Marianne loved relaxing on the beach, reading, watching Jeopardy, and entertaining friends.
Deeply competitive, from Candy Crush to Monopoly, Marianne loved winning. Her favorite game was Cards Against Humanity, which provided the perfect stage for her depraved sense of humor. Marianne loved to laugh and nothing could make her laugh as hard as her own jokes.
Marianne also leaves behind a nephew Tim Mooradian, a niece Jenna Forsthuber and her husband Shelby, her life partner Randy’s son Shawn and wife Kristen, his son Tommy Pate, four grandchildren, and countless other cherished family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome memorial donations to the American Heart Association or the Friends of Snow Library.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, September 27 from 4 pm to 7 pm, at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life service on Wednesday, September 28 at 11 am at Nickerson Funeral Home.
